Dash route reduction survey
For the next several weeks. We will be offering a survey to assist us with a possible reduction in route 5 to and from Chicago and a reduction to two routes running on Fridays in and out of Chicago. Following the survey we will hold a public hearing. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K9SCFDG
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE:
A Public Hearing will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. at Valparaiso City Hall, 166 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, Indiana, to discuss potential reductions to Chicago Dash fifth route Monday-Thursday and reducing to Two routes on Fridays bus services. Valpo Transit’s ridership has been increasing since the height of the pandemic but is still a fraction of the Pre-COVID numbers. Our goal is to offer the best service possible in a fiscally responsible way. To help do that, we are looking for ways to reduce costs that least impact our riders, specifically by service reductions on certain routes with continued low ridership. We aim to make Valpo Transit more efficient so we can keep providing quality service well into the future. Please join us for an open comment session to discuss potential impacts to your daily commute to and from the Chicago loop.
