Welcome to the City of Valparaiso Planning Department
The Planning Department is responsible for all current and future planning and zoning to manage growth and development in the City of Valparaiso. The Planning Department works with a variety of partners to enhance the quality of life in our community. This includes working closely with other city departments to facilitate project development and being involved in county and regional planning groups and community organizations.

Meetings of the Board of Zoning Appeals, Plan Commission, and Site Review Committee will meet via web-conference until further notice.  Public can join the web conferences using the link included on the agenda.

We will continue to accept applications for the Board of Zoning Appeals, Plan Commission, Site Review, and Zoning Clearance letters.  Please email your applications as PDF attachment to Sandy Biggs at sbiggs@valpo.us. You will also need to print and mail your completed application and send with the required application fee (made out to City of Valparaiso) to the Clerk-Treasurer’s office:
