To add convenience for residents and users of City of Valparaiso services, Valparaiso will begin accepting credit cards beginning June 22, 2021, announced Valparaiso Clerk-Treasurer Holly Taylor. “In response to customer needs and requests, we want to offer an easy way for users to pay for services using credit or debit cards,” said Taylor.
The secure credit card service is offered through a third-party platform for municipal clients, called PayGOV. Customers may choose this secure service, which adds a convenience fee of a flat $1 for any payment under $33 or 3 percent for any amount $33 or more. These fees are paid directly to PayGOV and are not collected by the City.
Through PayGOV, users can pay building permits, site permits, contractor registrations, rental registrations, ordinance violations and other City of Valparaiso fees. These payments can also be made in person at the Clerk-Treasurer’s office, online through the City’s website Valpo.us, over the phone, or via a mobile app.
Please contact the Clerk-Treasurer’s office at (219) 462-1161 with any questions regarding payment for City services and use of the PayGOV service.
