The City of Valparaiso will hold a public hearing at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Valparaiso City Hall (166 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN) regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. The hearing will be regarding barriers within the City’s rights-of-way to citizens with disabilities.
The City is preparing their ADA Transition Plan for infrastructure within the rights-of-way and is requesting input on the development of the plan. The plan once completed will be submitted to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) for approval. The ADA Transition Plan is a requirement of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to receive federal aid for transportation projects. A draft of the plan once completed will be presented at a future public hearing once the city has collected public input on the barriers.
All interested parties are invited to attend and discuss barriers within the City’s rights-of-way infrastructure to those with disabilities. If unable to attend, you may submit your view on this matter in writing to:
