Clerk-Treasurer - Holly Taylor

Fiscal Officer of the City

The Clerk-Treasurer is an election position, serves a four-year term of office, and serves as the fiscal officer for the City.

The Clerk-Treasurer’s office is the financial and recordkeeping hub of the City.  Our office oversees keeping track of all Ordinances, Resolutions, and meeting minutes for both the City Council and Board of Public Works & Safety.  Our office also processes all payments for parking permits, bus passes, building permits, site permits, contractor registrations, and more.  Payments for these items can be made via credit card, cash or check, with checks being made payable to the City of Valparaiso.

The City of Valparaiso now accepts credit cards through a 3rd party payment platform for government clients called PayGOV. Those customers who choose to use this service pay the nominal convenience fee of a flat $1 for any payment under $33 or 3% for any amount over $33. These fees are paid directly to PayGOV, and are not collected by the City.
