Valparaiso Public Works is responsible for:

Maintaining traffic control devices, such as stop, yield, speed limit, and warning signs.
Installing all street markers.
Painting all lane markings and pedestrian safety devices
Maintaining all centerlines, edge lines, turn arrows, school zones, crosswalks, parking stalls, handicapped zones, and curbs within city limits.

Please include your name, address, telephone number, and location of your concern,
along with any ideas you have for improving the situation. All regulatory signs will be
considered based on traffic counts, warrants, and in accordance with state and federal
guidelines.

Note that old street markers may be purchased through our office for $15 each for the
printed markers or $30 each for the embossed markers. If you are interested in a specific
street marker, contact our office at 462-4612 or e-mail at
