Random
Acts of Kindness Week will be celebrated and recognized in the City of
Valparaiso for the first time in 2012. It will take place from February
13-17.
RAK Week is in partnership with the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, and it is an internationally-recognized week.
Who:
All citizens, businesses, organizations and neighborhoods in the city of Valparaiso.
Why:
We embody the virtue of kindness as the most fundamental and instrumental facet of a vibrant community.
We
encourage the sowing of intentional random acts of kindness, so that
our entire population may benefit not only from receiving them, but also
from the giving.
We
envision a city that recognizes kindness as the number one uniting
factor that bonds all of us together as we progress boldly into the
future of the community that we cherish, and in which we live.
How:
Residents can commit to doing at least one random act of kindness in our city.
Neighborhoods can organize a random kindness activity that includes everyone in their area.
Businesses and organizations can do a “kind” activity one day during the week, or one on each day.
It's easy to participate. Be creative. Have fun with it!
It's not too late to get involved. We're going to be holding RAK Week again next year.
