The Department has a Crash Reconstruction Investigation Team. These officers are able to respond, on a 24 hour basis, to any serious injury or fatal crash and assist with determining what factors were involved with the crash.  Officers assigned to the Crash Reconstruction Investigation Team are required to attend a lengthy training program which consists of numerous hours of specialty training and certifications.
 
Currently two officers Sgt. Steve Kobitz and Sgt Phil Spence are assigned to the Crash Reconstruction Team. Both have investigated numerous serious injury and fatal crashes. On numerous occasions each has assisted other local police departments with crash investigations.
