Pavilion Features
The enclosed, 5,000-square-foot Butterfield Family Pavilion at Old Fairgrounds Park offers plenty of space for wedding receptions, graduation parties, group meetings, and entertainment needs. Features include handicap-accessible restrooms, a kitchen equipped with sink, refrigerator, and stove, and a seating capacity of 250. 

The pavilion is a seasonal building that is open from April 15 to October 15 (approximately). Please note, the pavilion is not heated or air-conditioned.
Guests are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. 

Reservation Information
The pavilion may be reserved up to two years in advance. Prices include table and chair set-up for up to 250 and includes use of the kitchen. A non-refundable full payment for pavilion reservations is due when making the reservation.  Reservations are one day beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 12 midnight.  Fees are $325 for residents and $350 plus tax for non-residents.  Appointments to view the pavilion must be made in advance by calling 219-462-5144.  Appointments may be available Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only.

Want to set up the day before your reservation? We now offer a discounted early set-up fee on Monday through Friday only. You may have access to the pavilion at 4:00 pm CT the day before your reservation for only $125 plus tax. This fee only applies with a fully paid primary reservation.

All rental fees are subject to Indiana sales tax. For reservation information, call the parks office at 219.462.5144, or register online.

Valpo Night Ride Registration
Registration is available for the 4th Valpo Night Ride taking place on Saturday, August 23. The 15-mile organized bicycle ride that takes cycling enthusiasts on a night ride in and around the City at their own safe pace. Organized by the Valpo Parks Department and the city’s Pathways Committee, the event offers fitness activity, food and fun. Age 10 and under must be accompanied by adult or in a pull-behind or tandem bike.

Valpo Night Ride
Experience the thrill of bicycling by starlight during the fourth Valpo Night Ride. This 15-mile ride begins and ends at the Butterfield Family Pavilion and allows participants to ride in and around the City at their own safe night. Riders will enjoy a mid-ride snack at Valparaiso's Central Park Plaza and an after ride party at the pavilion. Police support and volunteers along the route make the Valpo Night Ride a must-do event!
