Lauren is the Economic Development Coordinator for the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission and has lived in Valparaiso for 10 years, moving from Kirksville, Missouri in 2008. Lauren is a graduate of Wheeler High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Geography from Valparaiso University.
Before joining the Redevelopment Commission in 2016, Lauren interned for the Valparaiso Planning Department working on the Creative District plan, followed by an internship with the United Nations International Center in Washington D.C.
Lauren’s mother, Peggy, is a high school guidance counselor in Hobart, and her father, Lee, is a professor of Theatre at Valparaiso University. Lauren also has an older sister, Alaina, who works as a Study Abroad Advisor at Purdue University.
In addition to her work with the Commission, Lauren enjoys making jewelry, learning languages, and being outside. Lauren also volunteers as an Adult-Beginner English teacher with Compass International Family Center.
