DESIGN GUIDELINES

Design Guidelines HandbookThe Valparaiso Downtown Business District is listed on the National Register of historic places. The Downtown Design Guidelines were established in 1996 as part of the Downtown Master Plan. The downtown guidelines are suggestions for building façades, signage, and awnings. These guidelines are consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's standards for rehabilitation.

The Historic Preservation Commission has put together a list of general guidelines and processes that they suggest for all rehabilitation projects for historic structures in Valparaiso.
