Valpo Named Clay Patton to Plan Commission

Clay Patton has been named to the Valparaiso Plan Commission, announced Valparaiso Mayor Matt Murphy. “Clay Patton is a dedicated professional and community leader. We’re very fortunate to add his talent and commitment to the Plan Commission,” said Mayor Murphy.

 

Patton is a long-time Valparaiso resident, spending nearly 40 years in the community. He is an attorney with Patton Law, located on the courthouse square in downtown Valparaiso. Active as a community leader, he is legal counsel to several governmental bodies, including Portage Township, the Town of Burns Harbor, the Porter County Public Library System, and serves as a Deputy Public Defender for Porter County. Patton also serves on the board of the Valparaiso Family YMCA, among other community organizations. He is a graduate of Valparaiso High School, Indiana University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Patton and his wife, Jeri Pat Gabbert, are raising two daughters who attend the Valparaiso Community Schools.

 

The Valparaiso Plan Commission, along with the Board of Zoning Appeals, oversees planning and zoning for the city, reviewing rezoning proposals, subdivisions, plat approvals, annexations and overall development within the city.  For more information, visit Valpo.us.
